Men!

Getting in that 'Daddy' time expanded past scooters. Since he doesn't spend a lot of time with the kids during the week, Scott opens the door and yells 'Mommy! Bring us the football and an assortment of balls!' He's out there trying to teach them how to throw and catch. *laugh* My kids are so not athletic. It makes their football daddy sad, I think. I think he sees them playing like he did before his injury. It's the injury that makes me fairly glad they aren't interested.

Kevin had a bried moment when he thought our boys should have some connection with balls, but since thenhe realised we have the future olympic swim team here. Well, if we could add some balls to that we'd have water polo players!

But seriously, he was disappointed.

I so have to get the boys swim lessons. I've taken them swimming a few times, but we haven't had any luck in those few times getting them to let go of me and try to swim. They have their little arm floaties and insist on holding onto me. We watch their friend Riley, who is three months younger but has a stay-at-home mom who takes her to the pool several times a week, swim like a little fish. Makes me feel bad. We also want to go to the lake (a more frequent occurance than going to the pool for us) but I don't want to until they have the basic swim skills.

We're going up to visit family in Indiana in a couple of months, and they have a pool in the backyard. Or they did when we were there a couple of years ago. If so, maybe we can spend most of that week in the pool, weather permitting, and get them some practice.

The twins had their first "swim lesson" a week out of the NICU. We have been going through the whole baby swim thing, and now at two they are starting really to swim. Like... they won't sink or anything. It is so cute when Matthew sticks his head out of the water!

We had to swim as that wa sthe best thing for Matthew's problems. So we keep taking them to lessons. Justin shows real talent already, so does Craig, so I am only half kidding when I say we have budding Olympic swimmers!
