Yay for Mother's Day!

Ok, a little wasted here, so I hope to stay coherent. :)

It has been a great mother's day - mainly because my husband was actually HERE! Scott got in late last night, but he got up with the boys this morning. I got to sleep in until....(wait for it, people!)...8:30. I had the opportunity to shower and fix my hair before entering the main part of the house. YAY!

Scott took the boys out this morning to 'run for some things', while I went to get prescriptions filled (that damn non-narcotic habit my back keeps me in). When I returned, they were already back. Scott was cooking (JOY!) and the boys were at the table with a REALLY FREAKIN' BIG pot with THREE pink bromeliads in it. They're gorgeous, but what was even MORE gorgeous was the MASSIVE Nordstrom's gift certificate in it. *happy dance* I can shop like I did before the boys were born!

Scott cooked a yummy lunch and even made it 'more healthy' by just doing shrimp, scallops, mushrooms and spinach...with an entire stick of butter. Usually it is something over butter with a full stick and whole cream. Yummy, but like thousands of calories. This was GREAT and not quite so bad for you since I've been trying to get back into shape (like the last two days)

This evening, my mother came over to watch the boys and Scott took me out for a dinner, just the two of us. We went to Roy's, one of my FAVORITE places, where we go whether in Vegas, Dallas, or elsewhere. We had a great dinner, a couple of cocktails, a full bottle of wine, and desert (Mine was a shared upside down pineapple cake, his was a port!). Afterwards, we decided it was still early enough to take advantage of my mom, so we went to a local bar. I had a couple of top shelf margaritas, on the rocks, no salt, like I like them, from a bartender Scott knew. YUMMY and stong! Scott had about 3 or 4 more beers while we played competitive trivia games at the bar. I don't know who won, but who cares, because we had a great time, laughed like we haven't in a while, and remembered just why we love each other.

Mother's day couldn't be ordered more wonderful.

Now, me and my spinning head self need to go to bed because I have to get the kids up and off to school in the morning.

The husband is 'in town' through Wednesday, but working a conference in downtown Dallas that runs until 7 pm. What's worse? Being completely gone, or not getting home until 9:30 or 10:00 pm and having to get up early in the morning to be back down there?
