Do birds mean anything?

A few weeks ago, my mother and I went to Joanne Fabrics to get some beading supplies. They were trying to get rid of some of the leftover 'Harvest' products, at a great discount of 90%. I found some nice flowers to put in the transom over our front door, and an absolutely BEAUTIFUL twig and flower wreath for the front door. The wreath ended up costing $0.99! I came home and proudly put it on the front door.

Fast forward to a few days ago. I noticed that there were bird droppings on our front door and porch, but never saw any birds.

Last night, Lethe, Dave and Willem reached our house around 11:00 pm. Willem was pretty grumpy being woken up to come in from the car. We opened the door to let them in and SWOOP. In flies this little birdie. Ok, we have cathedral ceilings in the front part of the house. In between bouts of laughter, we spent a good half hour trying to get the little bugger out of the house. I had a broom, Scott had a sheet. We tried turning all of the lights out and put on the light outside, so maybe the bird would go out the front door. However, it kept flying into the transom, because it saw the light through there. We finally chased it upstairs (lower ceilings!) and got it in the bathroom. My hero/hubby went in there with it and came out with the bird gently wrapped in a towel. :)

We released the bird out the front door, and the next morning when it was out flying, I removed the wreath. There was an obvious place the bird had been nesting. In the wreath on my front door. I've never had anything like that happen before, and happening at 11:00 on a Friday night as our friends are arriving for the first time to our made things surreal.

Anyway, Lethe had her DAR meeting today, and Dave, Willem, Scott, Michael, Matthew and I went to Asia World Market to get dungeoness crabs, blue crabs and shrimp. Scott cooked and after Lethe came home we PIGGED OUT! Matthew and Willem both ate, but Michael just ate Spaghetti-O's. Typical :) We've had a very relaxing day around the house, and watched 'I, Robot'. With last night being such a late one, they have already cashed out upstairs. Tomorrow, I think we're going to go out for Dim Sum before they have to leave town. It's been great seeing them, and seeing how Lethe is growing that baby girl! She seems very active.

Tomorrow evening, a bunch of people will be coming over for a Super Bowl party. The kids will all play downstairs, and Colleen and I will probably stay down here drinking and watching them while the 'boys' (plus Chad's chicky-babe) will go watch the game upstairs on the HDTV big screen.

Only three more days before I finish my next-to-the-last class before I graduate with my business degree. Still have my hopping 3.99 GPA. Would be a 4.0 if not for an economics prof who gave me an A- rather than an A. I can't believe I'm actually going to graduate that close to a 4.0. WOOHOO!!!!!!

Oh yeah! I installed webalizer yesterday and realized that is actually getting hits. I mean, way more than just a few of my friends. 80 distinct domains in just the first four days of February. 300 in January.

I really need to finish my web site design so I can start actively pushing things.
