The boys got two of their 'main' birthday presents early. They know what their birthday is going to be. They saved up half for another Nintendo DS, which they will get on their birthday the 13th of April. Their big 'present' since we have minimal money is their actual party. They want to have it at Bounce U, but that costs like $250. I will save each week to pay for that, and have told them they are going to have to depend on their guests for presents *laugh* The gifts they got early are my old iPod (music only, and I have removed all music except what is appropriate for the kids) with an external speaker, funky cover and charger for Michael, and my old digital camera for Matthew (with a 1GB memory card, it's a Sony Cybershot that is 3.2 megapixels and also does video. They have really gotten the hang of taking pictures, reviewing them and deleting what they don't want).
On the injury front, we're trying to figure out what is going on with my foot. Yes, I broke it and didn't take care of it. When it felt better, I went dancing, did Tae Kwon Do, and got in trouble for doing that. I rebroke it, and spent six weeks in a cast. I didn't want to repeat that performance, so I've been listening and wearing my walking boot. I stay off my foot when possible. Today, for whatever reason, when I took off my boot to lay on the couch, I noticed the area below the ankle is majorly swollen and I can't bend some of my toes without pain. My usually 'supportive' husband (Don't touch it. Leave it alone. What did you do to it?) told me to get off my foot, brought me ice and said for me to call the doctor on Monday. What in the everloving hell???? I'm taking CARE of it this time!
On to the more fun part: Scott's birthday was on the 15th, which was the Saturday most people had their St. Patrick's Day parties. We went over to Colleen's, as we have the last couple of years (me last year alone since Scott was on the way to Thailand).
We took the kids to stay with mom and the rest of the old folks in assisted living. Doesn't that sound like FUN? (Yes, I packed their DS and Gameboy and told them to be quiet). Scott and I stayed out until almost 3 am and slept in until about 1 pm. YAY for that small luxury.
Do you know what I came away with? The knowledge that I actually look damn good in a tiara. I think I'm going to incorporate one into any situation possible. *laugh*
The smaller pics are ones Colleen took, and the bigger ones are mine.
VERY picture heavy behind cut.
Off to make Easter Baskets now.
