Doing the happy dance (on the inside)

My cast was due to come off tomorrow, but last night some of the cotton wadding bunched up under the arch of my foot and was KILLING ME! I caught the office before they closed and scheduled to get it off a day early. The cotton kept digging at me, and I ended up peeling layer after layer off the bottom of the cast until I had just the bottom free. I was able to pull out the cotton and tape off the edges so they wouldn't dig into me.

When the cast came off my leg felt so strange. Angela asked me what my leg was like and the only thing I could think of was: Skinny and Furry.

Getting home, one of the first things I did was shave my leg for the first time in MONTHS! GOD, that felt so good!

I still have to wear the dreaded boot for 7-10 days, and then most of the time for another couple of weeks while I do some physical therapy.

Yay! You and I! Castless! (Mine came off Tuesday in time for the Yerushalayim trip!)

Isn't it a funky feeling? Finally HAVING feeling again? And being able to scratch. Aaaaah. My eyes are rolling back in my head just thinking about how good that feels.

Just wait until you walk without either the cast of the boot. You'll walk funkily for a short while because you've gotten so used to hauling all that extra weight around.

I bought a borderline-tacky three-stone ring from a costume jewelry seller on eBay and have been cackling all day at my new bling. Gonna wear it to book fair tomorrow and blind children. Haha.
