Last night turned out great after all. Scott came in the door at 15 minutes til 12. Matthew crashed out 20 minutes before midnight and was NOT to be awaken. Michael actually made it all the way til midnight. The countdown started with Michael, Matthew, Scott, Shasta and me curled up together on the couch. We all got kisses and tickles.
Unfortunately, I was REALLY tired after all of that and getting the kids off to bed. Scott wanted a cigar, but I was in no shape to bundle up to go into the backyard for it. Maybe today/tonight.
I love my family!
Yesterday, I spent 5 hours driving. I took mom to her doctor's appointment to get her drains out. Unfortunately, the McKinney office was closed and we had to drive AN HOUR EACH WAY to get to the Greenville, TX office. Blech. She is in much better and her stitches look good.
In the afternoon, I went to visit my reconstructive surgeon. I brought him information about 'bridging' for surgery. This is where I stop my Coumadin a week before surgery, five days before (when the coumadin is starting to leave my body) I start twice daily Lovenox injections until the day before the surgery. I stop that and immediately after the surgery, I start back on Coumadin and twice daily injections until the coumadin levels get high enough in my body. I pushed him for having the surgery to get it over with. He agreed and we're going to do the last surgery as soon as we can get it scheduled. He will put the implant in place of the expander, and go ahead and rebuild the nipples (TMI?) at the same time to keep me from having to have another procedure at a later date. UNFORTUNATELY (believe me, had me cursing), he probably won't do the lipo he was going to give me since it is an 'optional' surgery and he wants to minimize the trauma to my body. He is going to talk to others and see if it would be safe to do, since I really want it. I figure I'm already under, already having to stay overnight for an outpatient procedure because of this damn syndrome - might as well get as much bang for it as we can. :)
I don't want to go back to work tomorrow *laugh* but it's a fresh year, full of possibilities. I have some great projects on my plate and am looking forward to making my mark with them.
Finally - WAR DAMN EAGLE!!!! We beat Clemson last night by 3 points, in overtime, for the Chick-Fil-A bowl.
