I just took some more pain meds, but I hope they start working FAST. Damn this hurts. I don't know if the pain is the same, because the last reconstruction I was in the hospital for almost 2 weeks, instead of 2 1/2 days, and they kept me on a LOT more medicine. I really hurt. My whole right side is sore and my abdoman and chest are really swollen up.

Damn, I hope this passes soon, because I am miserable and can't get comfortable at ALL.

I was really surprised that they sent you home so fast. Are you in any kind of restrictive or compression garments? Are you using ice packs?

After my minor surgery I kept myself surrounded in ice packs for at least a week just because it helped with the pain and the swelling so much. And here I am a month out of surgery, but I still prefer to wear the compression garmets because they ease the pain.

What have they advised you in that regard? I hope they've given you something other than drugs to help you feel better.

That's what was so strange. After my last surgery, because they took tissue out of my belly, I was in compression garments for months. I just stopped wearing it in the last week or so. He said they aren't needed anymore. So, no compression garments. No guidance to use ice or anything else. Nothing except some antibiotics and pain killers. 2 lortab (7.5 no less) every six hours.

I'm going to try some ice packs and see if that helps. I am SO swollen across my abdomen and side. I can't really see my back, so I'm assuming everything is a bit swollen there too. My breast looks fine, though.

You know we're going to demand pictures of that fine fine breast, don't you?

Right now it's sort of 'A cup, meet C cup'. Not real interesting other than a study in contrasts :)

Yeah, honey, but you're home.

Besides - It's your birthday and you can cry if you want to. Cry if you want to.

(On a serious note, do the stuff you learned last time. And call the doctor tomorrow. The team should have given you more guidance on this, instead of assuming you were an old hand at it. Even if it does feel like your home away from home!)
