It's now 'ours'

Thank GOD for scotchguarding! :)

The new loveseat is now officially broken in. Matthew hasn't been feeling good today, and has been quite sleepy. He fell asleep on the love seat around 6 covered up with a comforter. When I checked on him at around 7:15 to put him into his bed I noticed that he was SOAKED!!! Little pee monster! He took out the couch and a suede pillow that was under him. Well, the couch cleaned right up! YAY! Looks perfect, no smell, no stain...perfect.

Not so much luck for the untreated suede pillow. Oh well, we'll see how it turns out after a good wash. It will be stiff, but it might still be usable.

Scott has been in Kansas City the past couple of days and was supposed to come home late tonight. Unfortunately, he called tonight and said they scheduled another meeting so he won't be home until tomorrow. It bums me out. I really miss him when he's gone. We spent years both working out of the house, then him being unemployed for 10 months, so we were together in the house 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. When you are like that, you take things for granted and little things blow up into the biggest things. While I wish he didn't have to travel QUITE so much, I really do think it has brought us closer and has made me appreciate the things he does and what he means to me. I sense he feels the same way. In the past week, he has actually thanked me for small things I do around the house and complemented me on how good the furniture I bought looks.

God, I love him and miss him. Sleep tight, Scott. Tomorrow I'll see you. :)

I can't wait for the day to day Wes. This long distance stuff is hard sometimes. I understand you missing your man.

And LOL at the christening the couch. It seems furniture MUST be claimed within weeks of getting it. I got my new couch in November 2001 and I had it Scotchgarded. THinking my nephews might spill Kool-Aid. WEll... did NOT expect my friend to spill an entire glass of red wine. Yes, all over brand new couch. And ya can't even tell it!!! LOVE LOVE LOVE SCOTCHGARD!!

It's amazing how well it works. Along with the scotchguarding, the couches are brown (WAY darker than they looked in the picture for some reason) which covers a lot of the wear over time.

I also can't wait to see how your relationship with Wes works out over time. :) You guys seem so great together, and I think we've all seen the changes in his attitude about life. It must be much more impactful face-to-face. Keep with the long-distance (Scott and I did it for 9 months), and it will make you closer in the end.

:) thanks. I think so too. Over 6 months and still going strong. We've got the stuff to go the distance. And we may have another 6 months of long distance, but we'll be OK. Your support and approval of "us" means a lot. Seriously, thank you Trish. Making sure you come down from the clouds of new love to strong love solid ground can be scary. Having friends like you who also believe we've got something great is so assuring. The fact that other people that we trust and love see it makes it more real. Gosh - I hope I'm making sense. :)
