What garage sale?

Who needs a garage sale? Just bring in your two Mexican maids and the pile will dwindle.

It's amazing to me. As soon as I said I was piling all of that up for a garage sale in a week and a half, they dropped their equipment and started going through the stacks. It's dwindling already. Hey - I pay them the same no matter how long it takes them to clean *laugh* If they help me get some of this crap out of here, more power to them.

I consider my brothers racists. When we were going through my dad's stuff, one brother wouldn't let me throw away things because he kept saying, "HEY! You can't throw that out - it's worth money - those Mexicans will buy anything!"

For some reason - that just popped into my head when you posted that. I can't believe I'm related to these people some days.

He does have a point. When we had our garage sale, I was amazed at the things that I got money for! Especially the things I had put in the junk/Goodwill pile.

I guess that old saying is true: One man's trash is another man's treasure. You just never know.

I sure hope to recoup some of the money I've spent the last few weeks (swing set, bikes, shelves, trees, etc.). I'm $40 richer right now!

Thankfully, nothing in my sale is 'junk'. That all got taken to the dump this morning. :)

Cool! What a great idea. Since my maid holds a garage sale every two weeks or so, I give her the stuff and we split the proceeds 50/50. I'm just glad to have it out of the house!

Speaking of maids, is the problem with that cleaning service resolved, or are they still bothering you? Do I need to re-rattle some cages?

They haven't bothered me again yet. They said there was some problem with the CC. Did you talk to them?

I sent them a letter. Complete with documentation of our agreement.

Hopefully it was just an honest mistake on their part and neither of us will hear from them again. Just goes to show that no good deed goes un-aggravated!

They're not taking the bicycle, are they? (wink)

No way!!! The bike and trike are in another room.

You can also feel free to look through the stuff in the living room when you come get them and see if there is anything you would like. There is a HUGE car garage the boys loved. It's strong enough they actually could stand on it (although they got fussed at for doing it).
