Crash. Boom.

Is it wrong to laugh at the expense of others?

Today I stopped by a garage sale on my way to get lunch. A garage sale on Wednesday? I've never heard of that, but they looked like they had some cool stuff. LOTS of people had stopped, and were lining both sides of the street. There was barely room for one car to drive through. The cars went all the way back to the corner of the main street.

This old woman in a mini-van as trying to pull out onto the main road, and I didn't notice why she wasn't going until I saw the SUV parked at the corner FALL DOWN as she backed up. She pulled out again and stopped on the road. As I went by, I saw the entire side of her van caved in with just small scratches on the SUV.

I couldn't help but laugh. I kept replaying the SUV bouncing down. At what point do you realize that you are scaping down another car and literally picking it up off the ground?

Quite a while, if you aren't paying attention.

One time karaksindru knocked the driver's side mirror off this car because he was paying more attention to giving the car he has parallel-parked in front of a wide berth instead of the chain-link fence on the opposite side of the car he was pulling around. I was riding shotgun and thought he was watching the left while I was watching the parked car.

I felt so bad about it I called my car-fu buddy in the morning and he found me a replacement at a nearby salvage yard within an hour after I called him. I sweet-talked the salvage yard into pulling the mirror for me for a little extra and we picked it up that afternoon so I had it replaced that same LAN party.

After that I think Da Guys stopped giving me guff for not having a car because I'm not totally incompetent, I just wasn't able to afford a car at the time. (Early next year I will be. And I promise to watch out for SUVs.)

That's hysterical!

Someone please go ahead and pull my license when I get old. (And hire me a chauffeur, of course!)
