APS sucks

Ink

I've found someplace I think I trust, with reputable artists, and who is willing to work with me on the fact that I have APS and will be bridging blood thinners!!! Someday soon I'll be getting not only my breast tattooing, but also my small back piece. I need to draw it up in color, but it is basically a pink ribbon in front, slowly turning maroon (the color ribbon for blood disorders). The ribbon will be nicely shaded, and slightly on it's side. The pink end will have 'BRCA2+' at the tip and the maroon end will have 'APS' at the tip. The reason it is somewhat on its side is because I am having the Korean characters for 'Indomitable Spirit' put along the ribbon in black.

Anyway, I talked to a friend of mine who has a shop in Japan last night about what I would need to think about to have ink done with APS. I have to watch the bleeding, so I'll bridge (stop Coumadin, do Lovenox injections twice a day, immediately start back the Coumadin and keep doing shots until my INR is back up) and I have to be really careful of infections. Mark, my friend, told me to make sure that they not only used disposable needles, but also used the plastic disposable ink systems, rather than the autoclaved metal.

I'm pretty excited about all of this. Now to start drawing until I can get across what I want, and then see what they can come up with.

BTW - the place I am looking at is Elm Street Tattoo in Dallas. I actually recognized several of the names, although I think they need to update. I really don't think since Oliver Peck and Kat von D got divorced they both come through that shop. :) Could be wrong though. Either way, I'm probably looking at Dean Williams or Oliver Peck because their work seems very vibrant.

Quick tattoo design freehand

This is what I am thinking about getting on my shoulderblade. Two questions:

1) What do you think about the design? The front is pink, and the back is supposed to be 'blood red' (kind of burgandy), but I didn't have that. :)

2) Should I get it on the shoulder opposite my current ink (only about 2 X 2 inches), or next to it, but slightly off center?

Here comes trouble

The other night, while knitting, I noticed a string of my ribbon yarn snaking around the couch. When I followed it, this is what I found:

LOOK WHAT SOME MEAN PERSON DID TO YOUR RIBBON YARN, MOMMY! GOOD THING I CHASED THEM AWAY!

Matthew fit

I think Matthew is trying to run away. He hasn't spoken a word since getting in the car at school, so for almost an hour now he has been totally silent. He's glaring at me. He went and picked up his scooter, put it in the carrying case, slung it over his shoulder and tried to walk out the front door.

Of course, we have a latch about 5 1/2 feet up the door, so he can't open it. Now he's just standing at the front door glaring at me.

Not quite sure what happened at school, but he has totally withdrawn into himself. Now he is looking for somewhere to plug in the box fan. Who knows where this is going.

I know talking to him will do no good, so I just need to let him work it out and then talk to him when he starts speaking again.

EDIT: He has just pulled a dining room chair over to the front door to get to the upper latch. Guess I need to get my shoes on and prepare for the chase.
