Seemed like a good idea

There's a lesson there somewhere

I felt pretty good yesterday and had my pain meds down to 1 every 6 hours instead of 1-2 every 4 hours. Last night, I piled up pillows under my legs, put pillows on either side of me, and went to sleep in my cocoon. I had taken a pain pill just before laying down, around 9:30, and I think I drifted off around 11:00.

The two possible lessons to be learned are:

1) Don't sleep after abdominal and chest surgery on a very soft bed

2) Don't let the pain meds wear out before you are totally pain free

I get my nightly shot around 9 pm, and all went well. This morning I tried to get up around 9 am for my shot and...no dice! Every time I tried to get up, I couldn't. Can't use my arms, can't use my stomach, can't use my sides. Ummm. I tried for over an hour to get up and finally got out around 11:00. Keep in mind - I also have a cast on one leg!

Maybe I'll remember to keep my pain meds next to the bed again tonight so that doesn't happen!

Trading Spaces

I used to watch Trading Spaces, but stopped because they got rid of Paige Davis and had changed so much of the concept. It used to be a great way to get cheap ideas and they seemed to have so much fun. It seemed to move towards 'How wild can we get?'

I found that for this new season, they have brought back the original show - Paige Davis was brought back instead of the 'hostless' show, back to 2 days and $1000, original designers, and while they are still a bit more out there on their designes, it is closer to the original show.

Here's the kicker - they have a new carpenter. Makes Ty Pennington look like chopped liver, and believe me I always thought Ty was hot.

Meet Thad Mills, the new Trading Spaces carpenter. He's 6'7" tall and amazing. Yummy.

Can't say as I've ever rewound a show to watch someone do CARPENTRY in slow motion *laugh*
