Just a few notes and pictures

- After not sleeping at all Thursday night, I took a Ambien Napien (did anyone see that Simpsons episode??? Laughed my ass off) last night around 10 and slept like a rock.

- I miss me some GS and LG. So do Michael and Matthew.

- Matthew's great wonders of swimming underwater have given him swimmer's ear. He's in intense pain, getting ear drops, and can't swim today at his 'girlfriend's birthday party. While getting his prescription filled, I also bought childrens-size swimmers ear plugs. Hopefully, that will help him for a while.

- I'm ready to rip the intercom system out of the wall! It's gone wacky and is clicking on and off repeatedly. Even turning the volume down you still hear the clicking. We can't find anything to fix it so we might end up just taking it off, pulling the wires, and putting it back.

- Three boards of our fence have rotted off thanks to two months of almost non-stop rain. With Scott's layoff, I'm going to have to call someone to just repair it instead of getting the new fence we had planned.

- For those of you who don't also read GS's journal, while we were at lunch with some friends, Michael started drawing some intricate lines and circles while the other kids were scribbling. When my friend, Camille, asked him what he was drawing, his response was 'Molecules', err 'Molcools' *laugh*. We shouldn't have made such a big deal out of it, because last night he was talking about inventions he was going to make, how rich he was going to become and 'everyone will know that I am BRILLIANT'. Ummm...ego check. You're six and just learning to read. I think I'll have them hold the Nobel Prize for a few years.

- I just realized that while GS and I took plenty of pictures, I didn't get anyone to take pics of us together. I'm bummed about that.

Need your prayers

This morning, as we were heading to a birthday party, we saw that the Plano police had an intersection a few blocks from our house completely blocked off. On the way back, several hours later, we saw news vans parked at the intersection.

I am sad to say that we lost one of Plano's finest this morning in an auto accident. Wes Hardy was a Plano police officer serving our neighborhood on motorcycle. He leaves his wife, a member of our mothers of multiples club, and three-year-old twins.

Please keep Ashlee and the girls in your prayers, along with the extended family and those Wes worked with in the Plano police department.

Why joy is still in my heart

Thinking so much about being left all alone upon the sudden loss of your spouse made me think about how much I really do love my husband. I know I tell him daily, but I don't know that he understands the depth of it or the reasons for it. Sometimes it becomes a HABIT - something you say at the end of a phone call or before leaving on a trip. However, here are just ten of the many, MANY reasons, I truly do still love this man I've been married to for almost 12 years and been with for about 17.

1) He makes me laugh almost every day.
2) He's truly brilliant and can figure out almost anything.
3) When mad, he will always walk away rather than raise his voice to me.
4) He stands with me as a true Partner when it comes to raising the kids.
5) His big, beautiful brown eyes and those long, dark eyelashes he was
nice enough to bless our sons with.
6) The twinkle in his eye when he's been drinking, and it looks like he
is just RIGHT on the verge of sharing the world's funniest (or
raunchiest) joke with you.
7) Despite complaining about his family, I see that he will do anything
to help them. Anything.
8) The little acts of kindness or romance he can pull out of nowhere
9) Finding a love letter from when we first started dating and still
having my heart melt over it.
10)Saying that he loves me no matter what happens on the outside - long
hair or short, thin or bigger, pale or tan, dressed up or in jammies.

Sometimes we get so caught up in the day-to-day of our lives. Many people
thought that 7/7/07 was going to be some big lucky day - but for some it
was the worst day of their lives. Today, I wanted to make it known that
it was just like any day in my life - perfect because I have my boys and
Scott with me.

I think everyone should put together lists like this for those they
love in their life, and don't just keep them private. SHOW THEM!!!
Take it the other way, as well. Been fighting? At the end of your rope?
Start writing what you love about the person and what annoys you. Once
you see the love side grow and grow, and how petter the annoyances can
seem in comparison, it tends to make whatever slight you are feeling
fade away with time.

Scott, I love you and hope to have you with me for the rest of our
lives. I want to grow old with you, watch our sons grow up, watch
them start careers and families, then spend our older years enjoying
the company of each other again. Although that is my greatest wish,
were I to lose you tomorrow, I know that I would eventually realize
that you blessed me with almost 20 of the best years of my life and
left me with two WONDERFUL children that are always a part of you.

I love you, hon. Just because.

Always and Forever,

'Trish-E-Poo' *laugh*
