Surgery update and the boys' birthday

I'm alive, I'm healing, I'm sleeping :)

That's about my life. I'm not in the intense pain I was in a few days ago, so I'm able to actually get some sleep. My back is the worst still, and I can't bend forward for long without getting stabbing pains as I straighten up. So, I spend most of my time just laying on the couch sleeping. It gets better every day.

On a brighter note, yesterday the boys had a great birthday. Matthew got a Captain Jack Sparrow dress-up kit, complete with dreds coming out of a bandana *laugh* He loves it. He also got a pair of roller skates, some stickers, a Scooby-Doo puzzle and Dogz II for his gameboy. Michael also got skates and Dogz II (so they can link up), part of a skate park, several miniature skateboards to customize, a Hot Wheelz skate trick and a giant whoopee cushion. They both also got Tony Hawk CD player carrying cases for their players and CDs.

We've got their party scheduled for next Saturday, the 21st, but we wanted to make sure they got gifts ON their birthday.

Ok, back to a horizontal position to sleep some more. :)

I'm going to TRY to sleep in my own bed tonight. I'm not sure how well that will work, but I want to sleep there instead of the couch. I also want to possibly sleep in tomorrow morning without having the kids climbing on me. Being out on the couch, I'm up when they are up. I can go back to sleep thanks to the drugs, but I still wake up for a while.

We have a partial wave, soft-side waterbed. I'll have to see if I can get myself comfortable on it, and most importantly, get myself out of it. We'll see how things go.

I also started putting scar cream on several of the areas we are finished with, like along my bikini line. I don't know how much I believe in the products, but some people swear by them so I'm going to give it a try.

Right now, I simply look like a giant cupcake.

I hope to get around to a picture post tomorrow. I took pics of the boys opening their birthday presents, along with their 'Mommy made an oops' haircuts which make them look ready to ship out to Iraq any day now. I think there are other pics on there, so I'll see what I need to catch up on. We also got some great pics of our niece, who is in a show choir that went to New York recently for Nationals and placed 5th. I would NOT have recognized her, and just can't believe she has gotten so big!!! We use her as a measure of the time Scott and I have been together, because she was born a month before we started dating. To see her so grown up, shapely, competing in New York. My God! I just can't believe it. I'm so proud of her!!!!
