All of the Eckerd's in our area were bought out by CVS. I noticed today that one was having a 'fixture liquidation', so I got an idea :)

I went and dug through all of the fixtures looking for something that would display the bead jewelry I've been making lately. One day, as I've said before, I would love to actually sell some. Do some custom pieces, just have fun with things and only make enough to keep me in beads - not necessarily making any kind of profit. Anyway, I found this silver/mirror-looking peg board, and a bunch of little silver hooks that go into them. The board is maybe 5 feet by 4 feet, and I didn't get near enough hardware to fill it. Just enough for maybe half, or about 25 bracelets spaced quite a bit. I'm sure I can find some other hardware hooks for the peg board at Lowe's or Home Depot. I ended up getting the board and the hardware for $8 - what I had on me. He tried for much more, but when you don't really NEED what you are trying to buy, it makes bargaining much easier.

The board cleaned up nice and provides a great reflective surface. The bracelets look great on there. I can probably buy some netting or something to put around the edges to soften things up, and come up with a name for my designs. I have something in mind, but I'm not sure about it. My next step will be to actually get some good photos of the bracelets, and then get up the nerve to actually let people know that I am selling them. I have thought of just sitting the board up in the dining room or somewhere during our steamer next week (there will be around 40 people at last count) and only talking about them if someone mentions them.

Is that too tacky?
