How was it getting on the plane? Airport security and new rules and all?

It wasn't as bad as I thought it would be. We got there two hours before the flight, I had overstuffed my bag, but since this happened WHILE I was on vacation they waived the $25 fee for it being more than 50 pounds. I made sure all liquids, gels, and 'remotes' of any kind were in my checked luggage. Remotes also include the key fobs that open your car doors, so that kind of sucked.

Going through security, amazingly, was no different than it usually is. The change happened before the let you on the plane. I have to hand it to the Atlanta airport - they have it down to a well-oiled machine now. They showed up about 20 minutes before boarding, and started the process then. They pulled up with three large tables, trash cans, and LOTS of TSA employees. There were 8 people checking bags, 3 to guide the traffic, and one overseeing everything.

I felt kind of bad. I was REALLY worried because I had forgotten to take out my new lip gloss. They didn't even see it in my bag. Yet, this little 4 or 5 year old girl next to me, they looked in her kiddie purse, saw some Tinkerbell lip gloss, and threw it away. She was screaming and crying. I would have joined her had they found mine :)

I was going to ask the same thing. As painful as that wakeup call was this morning, we made sure she got there with plenty of time to spare just in case.

Even so, I watched the clock until 9:20, hoping she got off without any hassle.
