Respond to this entry with a comment, and....

1. I shall respond with something random I like about you.
2. I shall tell you what song, movie or book reminds me of you.
3. I shall name something we should do together.
4. I shall say something that only makes sense to you and me (or at least me).
5. I shall tell you my first or clearest memory of you.
6. I shall leave you a quote that is somehow appropriate to you.
7. I shall ask you something that I have always wondered about you.
8. If I do this for you, you might in turn post this on your journal so you can do the same for others.

1. You have so much life in you and are a great independent thinker.
2. The Hunger.
3. Drink and watch Jubal and the boys play again, while you let me snuggle little Cole :)
4. If it were not for football, I would not be playing football today.
5. My clearest memory is sitting at the table for dinner and realizing that you were about the only other person in the world who knows one of my favorite movies - Pass the Ammo (ergo, the quote above)
6. I'm paraphrasing on this one - it's something Mother Teresa said. "God never gives you more than he knows you can handle. Sometimes I just wish he didn't trust me so much."
7. You don't find that many Goth Christians. Do you find resistance from other Christians because they don't understand how the two can work together?

2) mmmmmmmmm, david bowie...
3) i still intend to take you up on this one!
6) that's awesome. thank you for that. =)

7) it's kind of funny. i really expected this would be the case. however, it's been the exact opposite. in our church, we were so completely openly embraced from day one - when we walked in an unmarried couple with no intention of getting married, 8 months pregnant, wearing our black clothes - fishnets, jnco's, wallet chain, leather trenchcoat...

however, in the GOTH community, we became shunned and even banned from discussion forums. being a conservative christian is "inciting trouble" among their bulletin boards, and answering attacks with facts and truth is "attacking people".

amazing, no?

case in point - this usericon is from our first wedding, which took place in one of the larger conservative southern baptist churches in northwest arkansas. the ceremony was officiated by one of the founders of the church, the organizer of the home groups and counselor to young engaged couples. and yes, we wore all black and fishnets in the ceremony. and i was 10 days away from delivering jubal.
