Oh look! A bird!

Yes, the birds have started singing, and I can see the first inklings of light in the sky.

I guess I'll climb out of my chair and off my heating pad, let the dogs out, fix the boys their lunch for school, get dressed and wait for the boys to get up. Won't be that much longer.

Does anyone else have a problem with steroid shots making you WIRED for a couple of days?????? I jumped right in there and said 'Sure!' when they offered it because I was desperate for anything to help the pain. I had conveniently forgotten that I can't sleep for two days after getting the shot.

Oh, I remember those days well enough. I had quite the setup. After a while, I learned how to feed both babies, supporting them on pillows against me, while reading a book or some other activity.

Those days are long gone now. They went from 19 inches at birth and are now 4 friggin feet tall!!!!

i am mastering the art of typing with only my left hand. getting quite fast at it actually, and minimizing my mistakes surprisingly well.

the bunny eats every two hours, and burps a LOT or spits up a lot inbetween.

good lord i hope he goes back to sleep today. he did not yesterday, and i am exhausted!

Spit up *snicker* Matthew has GERD, and Michael had reflux but outgrew it. Michael wasn't so bad, just regular spit up. Matthew, on the other hand, would projectile vomit his milk back out after most meals. We used to use it as a prank on unsuspecting friends ;)

When I had to get up in the morning hours to feed them, I cheated. I would bring them out to the couch, place them in bouncy seats, strap them in, set their Podees next to them (if you haven't discovered Podees, and you feed from a bottle sometimes or all of the time, you must RUN out to get some now!!! They are a bottle, with a sort of straw going all the way to the bottome, a lid on the bottle, then another long flexible straw coming up with a nipple on the end of it. Since the nipple is so light, like a pacifier, they can keep it in their mouths even though they can't hold a bottle yet. WONDERFUL LIFE SAVER when mine were babies) and lay down on the couch nest to them. Yes, I REALLY needed sleep, and I know you do too now.

I don't know if a Podee would work with Cole's palate and lip, but it's worth a try. Here's the link for info on it

What was also great about it, with all of Matthew's medical issues and being CONSTANTLY on meds, is that there is a medicine attachment. You put it in between the bottle and the nipple and there is a plunger that you have the meds in. As the baby is drinking, you slowly administer the medicine in with it.

Ok, enough of my rambling about it. I don't even know how Cole is feeding. Is he solely breast, breast/bottle, or bottle?

hehehehehe. he is all bottle, but they are special nipples that i have to put pressure on cuz he can not cause latch/suction until he gets his lip fixed. =(

lots of effort. i have a pic somewhere...

you have to get milk into the reservoir and put constant pressure onto it the whole time he is eating.

Yeah, I remember having to do that or something like it with Jeremy before he got his surgery. And then having half of it come right back out his nose. It was a bit disconcerting at first.

I have had the shot but... just being on the pills will keep me awake for almost 48 hours. I had to take steroids last fall for hives and remember crying at 4:30 in the morning - please let me sleep!!!! Hate them. Sorry you can't sleep.

What a great picture of you guys :)

I haven't crashed yet, so I haven't slept since I woke up Monday morning. Maybe Tae Kwon Do tonight will wear me out enough to go to sleep.
