The doctor just called me. He tracked down mom's CT scan results, and the cancer had not spread outside of her colon. We also have a plan now. He wants to see if we can avoid removing part of her colon if at all possible, so on Wednesday, he wants to do a more thorough repeat colonoscopy. He wants to make SURE that every single polyp is removed, that there aren't any funny looking areas where it had moved into the walls of the colon, and to make sure the margins where he removed the other polyps are clear of cancer. If we get all clear on that one, then that may be all she has to do. YAY!

He let me know he generally doesn't just tell the daughter about the cancer, and that while we were able to sneak the CT scan in as an 'additional test', if we are going to repeat the colonoscopy we will have to tell her the truth. This means that on Monday, I have to sit her down and tell her they found cancer, but at least I have very positive news about it for her.

Her blood count is almost back to normal, as well, so when we get this cancer thing out of the way, we can probably get her double-knee replacement scheduled soon.

I am SOOOOOOO relieved that the news wasn't as bad as it could have been.
