Case in point
The other day, Michael had his first REAL toddler tantrum. He even told me that he was going to run away from home *laugh* I sent him to his room and when I checked back a half hour later, he was asleep. But not before doing massive damage.
I am SOOOO looking forward to this next week. Sun has mandatory shut-down the week of July 4. So, as of Friday afternoon I have 9 straight days of no work. With the exception of weekends and Monday, the kids will be in summer camp during the day. I will have nothing to do next week except school work. NOTHING! I can do gardening. I can read. I can SLEEP. This will truly be joyous.
Tuesday, on the other hand, was not a good day. My boss called to say his three-year-old, who has luekemia, was back in the hospital with an infection. I felt like I was coming down with a cold. I took Matthew to the doctor, and he had CT scans done of his head, and it turns out that he has 100% occlusion due to infection in four of his six sinus cavities, 75% in the fifth and 50% in the sixth. We're in serious antibiotics for three or four weeks. Did I also mention it was raining for the 18th day STRAIGHT? Finally, as if matters weren't bad enough, the vet called to say my cat was in renal failure again. We now have to give her IV fluids once a day for a week, then twice a week for 2 weeks and retest her levels.
We started fluids today at home on Sydney (the cat) and it went remarkablly well. She stayed still, and I got the needle in with no problems. I'm hoping it goes ok with little stress.
The one thing keeping me going is that my friend Mike, his wife, myself and MAYBE a couple of others (poke-poke, Gene-Bob) are going to see They Might Be Giants in mid-July in downtown Dallas. I LOVE THEM LIVE!!!!! I can't wait.
