What is YOUR oddity?

Thinking about my body falling apart got me thinking about medical oddities.

Do you have any odd / weird / unique physical or medical thing?

I've got two, nobody would ever know about :)

1) It freaks out eye doctors because I actually have a thin strip of colored iris going across one of my pupils. It stretches as my pupil expands. Doctors say it just never detached. Doesn't affect anything, and I would never know it was there. But if you look really closely at my pupils, you can find it sometimes.

2) I have something called a Babinski's Reflex. This is something wrong with my nerves, where if you run something up the sole of my feet instead of curling in on themselves, the toes flex outward. Oddly, that is a test that doctor's use to test for brain functioning. Note to friends: If I'm ever in a horrible accident, PLEASE let the doctor's know I have this anyway! I'm not brain damaged. Well, at least not from the horrible accident! :)

So, what's your oddity? Are you double jointed? Organs backwards inside of you? Born with three kidneys? :) Share time!

I have my very own form of Parkinson's. It causes me to type backwards and contort my hands into wierd postures.
I'm also allergic to vanilla and citrus.

How do you type backwards?

Vanilla and citris. That is an odd one. I have a mild chocolate allergy and everybody looks at me like I'm nuts - like NOBODY is allergic to THAT! Encounter much of that?

I dunno...I just type and sometimes it comes out mostly backwards.

And yes...everybody asks me how I can be allergic to vanilla. The answer is "I turned out so pretty, I had to have one big flaw."

Vogon has issues with chocolate, too -- it confused his parents for years until they made the correlation that times they thought he was acting crazy were right after he'd eaten chocolate.

He had a whole bunch of my grandmother's mole sauce when we were in LA (I told him beforehand she puts extra chocolate in it, but he ate it anyway) and man, he loses all tact after it gets into his system. Luckily he was agreeable enough to stay in the bedroom for the evening with the TV and the book he was reading so he didn't accidentally offend anyone.

I was born with only one kidney. I am a mirror-image twin, so while I have a right kidney, my twin has a left! He is actually one of those small number of people who has his heart on the right side.

My eye color is grey-blue-green (I guess it depends on the light, unless you're looking at them from 3 inches away). Contact lenses are tinted, so you have some hope of finding them when dropped. My lens maker sometimes orders blue ones, then sometimes green. So far, they've not ordered grey ones, but I won't be surprised when it happens.

The rest of my peculiarities are the result of my advanced age, and of lesser thrills.

I have a depigmented spot on the back of my hip that fascinates people that see it. I cover it with Dermablend when I think there's any chance it might be exposed.

None of my allergies are particularly interesting, although it is kind of funny to tell people I became an atheist because of my sinuses. When I had my first acute sinus infection at age 15, my then doctor told me to pray instead of prescribing a course of antibiotics. I was diagnosed with chronic sinusitis three years later.

Not many oddities outside of the Psoraisis but I can roll my tongue into a tube and drink through it. Lol, kinda like a hummingbird. The other thing I can do is flare my nostrils several times in a row. When my brothers and I were little, we used to do as a "secret language" lol. Later, Kim

OOooh! I can roll my tongue into a tube, but I've never tried drinking from it!

*runs off to try this*
