The fingers of God

Earlier today I saw what I have always thought was one of the most beautiful things in the world. The day had been overcast and misty, and as I was driving west to the store, the clouds were just starting to break. In small areas between the dark clouds, there were bursts of light. The light streamed down to the ground in distinct lines, brilliant rays of light reaching out to touch the earth.

This always makes me smile, and makes me want to run home, get out the pastels and try to draw it. I didn't even try this time. I've been trying to capture the beauty of it for most of my life and never done it justice.

No wonder they are called god's fingers! One of the most beautiful sights!

Ah, the humble crepuscular ray. Perhaps next time you'll be able to capture it on paper.
