It never ends

I should have known from the fact that I have at least two of every crochet hook size known to man that knitting would be the same way. I keep having to go get new needles for the projects I want to do. I was all ready to start a new project, and I have the size 10 DPNs needed, and I have a size 10 circular needle - but it's 29" or something like that and I need a 16". Grr.

I did finish my felted hat today. I gave up a bit early - only 5 cycles in our front loader before I decided I didn't care that you could still sort of see the stitching. I think it looks awesome and is set up on a soccer ball being shaped. :) I'll take pictures later when it is dry. Yay! :) My first knit project that is for myself!

I wish my head would stop hurting, and helping my mom finish packing tomorrow won't help matters.

I think I just need to go to bed. *laugh*

You only have *2* of each hook? my husband would love you and bow down in the face of your restraint ;) I've lost count of how many of each crochet hook size and knitting needles I have. But, then again, I'm an addict and my crafts are taking over the house. The yarn alone has started asexually reproducing (that's my story and I'm sticking to it. I had absolutely NOTHING to do with the amount of yarn that currently resides in my house). Then there's the beads and the jewelry components and the embroidery and.... and..... and.......

I haven't tried felting yet. I keep thinking about it, but haven't quite gotten there yet. post pics when you're done and it's all shaped?

Does your soccer ball have a name? Wilson? Spalding? :D

and OMG I LOVE YOUR ICON!!!!!!!!!! This is me EVERY time I start a skein. I'm shamelessly stealing it.

Steal away!!!

My husband was DRUNK last night and started on a 'craft' tirade. It was all prefaced by 'I'm NOT saying this to be a dick. I'm just stating an observation about all of the women I've had around me in my life' :) You find a new craft and throw yourself into it. You buy everything for it. You ENJOY doing the craft, but one day, you are done and on to another craft. Lather, rinse, repeat.

I agreed. I throw myself into each craft, but I do occasionally go back to them. I made a TON of jewelry and had my own jewelry design business for all of a year. I have a bunch of cross-stitch, yarn out the WAZOO, crochet needles, craft books, knitting needles, magazines, plaster, tiles for mosaic, just about everything. I could run a craft store. :)

But it makes me happy, and he puts up with it. I compared it to him with video games. You buy a video game and put a lot of effort into it, and one day you are DONE or another game comes out you want to play more. Do you go back to play that old game you put so much time into? Not often.

i plunked down $40 or so on a set of interchangeable circs, and i'm never looking back!
i LOVE that i now have every size imaginable {well, ok, i know they make TEENY TINY ones that i don't have, or SUPER long ones...} all in one handy little box.

i got the denise set, but they're not for everyone, as they have flexible plastic tips. knitpicks has wooden and metal sets that i hear good things about, too.

Does it have all of the lengths for the 'in between' so that you don't have to buy multiple sets?

BTW - In finishing my hat, I was faced with the 'five DPN' situation that so scared me. You're right. It isn't so bad since you are only working one at a time. *laugh* It just LOOKS so scary!

the denise set that i have, i think has the most lengths of inner cables. i got mine on ebay, but you can buy them direct - and they even have a pink set that donates to breast cancer research!
