Jumping the gun

I just needed to do this. Every year, by tradition, I wait until the day after Thanksgiving to start putting up any Christmas decorations, and always take them down the day after New Years.

I started putting up decorations tonight! No clue why. Just felt like it. I put up our new tree, but haven't lit or trimmed it. I'm used to our old seven foot tree we've had for about 12 years or so. Last year after Christmas, I found a really marked down nine foot tree that is pre-lit. I figured since we have vaulted ceilings, a bigger tree would work well.

Two extra feet makes a LOT of difference!!!! I also didn't plan for the extra WIDTH. It takes up a lot more room so I set it up in the formal living room. I guess that lets me open the blinds and have it show outside.

So, Merry Christmas, I guess! :)

With everything you've been through this year, you celebrate as festively and as long as you want!! I'm happy you're into the holiday and want to let it spill into a new room and out the front windows. Have fun with those trimmings!

Wheeeeee! Merry Christmas! Beth and I set out the ridiculously HUGE Christmas village on Saturday night. I've gotta get a better system for that thing---find someplace to leave it out year-round!!

Beth didn't get into bed 'til nearly midnight, but she was so helpful this year! :) Still haven't tackled putting up the trees, though.
