Talking it out

I have an appointment this afternoon to go talk to Matthew's psychiatrist. I hope he can help me figure out how to deal with the recent escalation of his issues.

We had a fairly good weekend with him, but had taken away a lot of things for him to 'earn back' with good behavior in school. He put his transformers, puzzles and dinosaurs in bags, and had no TV or computer games. He couldn't care less. Doesn't upset him at all.

Thursday or Friday night, he came downstairs a bit after bedtime and told me 'I don't deserve to be in this family.'. It's incredibly hard to see this behavior and not know how to handle it.

If you ever want to talk, just come find me. My son has severe ADHD, and of my two partners one is ADD and the other ADHD. I'm well-versed in a lot of these issues.

Things have been too crazy around here lately that I didn't get around to responding to your last post about the issues that he's been having. They *don't* seem abnormal to me, and these things are part of the ADHD as well, at least from my understanding and experience.

I hope you're able to get some answers today.

I know your heart must hurt to hear him say things like that. :(
