Spreading the madness

I'm spreading the madness, one LJ user at a time. Ganked from chef_troy

4 - Tell a first memory about you.
5 - Associate you with a character/pairing.

1 - Tell you why I friended you.

In meeting you through geek parents or parents of twins,
don't remember which right off, we got to talking and I
thought that you were faced with so much adversity in
your life, yet you always attached it with gusto. We seemed
to come from such different lives, but still have a lot
in common.

2 - Associate you with a song/film.

Well, you know this one was easy *laugh* Of COURSE it is
by Clay Aiken. I would have to say the sentiment of 'Invisible' makes me think of you. You seem to want to fade
away and be invisible so many times, to learn more about
life and those around you. Yet sometimes it strikes that
you might already be invisible in many ways. The STALKING
parts of the song don't apply, but the general pull
between not wanting to be seen and the pain of not being
seen as you really are do make me think of you.

3 - Tell a random fact about you.

You are a great writer. I'll admit, I haven't read everything, but the things I have read were very
challenging and you seemed to put things into words so well.

4 - Tell a first memory about you.

I remember talking to you about our kids early in
our friendship, and it hit me that it didn't matter
that you were gay, or deaf, or challenged by a
disability, or living in another country. When it
came to our kids, we were so alike.

5 - Associate you with a character/pairing.

Not as easy as the song part :) Probably the comic
Sinfest. Have you ever seen it? It's not so much that
I would pair you with either of the main characters,
but that the comic doesn't really take side with any
one view - it uses the comic to question all views.
I think you have done that through the exploration
of religion in your life, and I respect it.

6 - Ask something I've always wanted to know about you.

At what age did you know you were gay?

7 - Tell you my favorite user pic of yours [if it pertains].

Any one of your McKay icons - because they are so telling
that you are SUCH a fanboy! :)

I have looked at Sinfest before, but never really read it. I will have to go and read it more.

As for the answer of #6. I think I have known I was attracted to boys fairly early. Like when I was 9 or 10. I came out when I was 14.

I TOTALLY LOVE THAT SONG! (excited!) It is permanent on my playlist!

1 - Tell you why I friended you.

Easy. Because you seem like an extension of me.

2 - Associate you with a song/film.

'Cause I'm a Blonde' by Julie Brown

3 - Tell a random fact about you.

You are incredibly smart and truly care about
others.

4 - Tell a first memory about you.

I remember seeing posts by you in badparents and
laughing my ass off. I don't even remember the post,
but just that I thought it sounded so familiar.

5 - Associate you with a character/pairing.

I would have to fight you to star in a remake of Breakfast
at Tiffinis.

6 - Ask something I've always wanted to know about you.

Do you ever feel that people take advantage of how much
you give of yourself, without returning any of it?

7 - Tell you my favorite user pic of yours [if it pertains].

It is OF COURSE the pictures of us together at Glamour
Shots. :)

I love the Glamour Shots photos!!! I have then scattered all over the house, and they make me smile every time I see them.

As for #6, that's an interesting question. And it's a yes and no answer. I don't do things for people or send them things with any expectation of receiving anything in return. That's not why I do it. In all honesty, I do it for purely selfish reasons. It makes ME feel good. When people send me stuff if makes me feel incredibly guilty.

But then again, if I do something for someone and they don't acknowledge it (if it's something BIG), and/or do something nasty/betraying/hateful thereafter, I'm damned sure not going to make that mistake again. There are a few people on my FL who fit that category. *shrug*

I don't ever feel taken advantage of, per se, because no one specifically comes out and asks for something. And if they do, I ignore them. I don't loan money to friends, let friends borrow clothes, and I very rarely give free legal advice upon request.

1 - Tell you why I friended you.

I didn't really know you well before meeting you at Chuck Cheese's when we were meeting GS here. I thought we really got along that night and you were a 'real' person that I would actually get along with. Thus - I friended you so I could get to know you better.

2 - Associate you with a song/film.

I think of you as a real 'classic' person, so I sort of see you like Kathleen Turner and the characters she has played. Yes, even Serial Mom. :) You have a level head, care about your family, but have a great sense of humor and passion about things that mean the most to you.

Believe me, Kathleen Turner is high praise from me.

3 - Tell a random fact about you.

You so do NOT fit my stereotype of the little librarian lady. Well, except for when you wear that bun in your hair ;)

4 - Tell a first memory about you.

Meeting you there at Chuck E. Cheese's and sitting there talking mostly to you, Susan and GS. You seemed like such a nice person and a great mom to Nick.

5 - Associate you with a character/pairing.

Gotta stick with Kathleen Turner.

6 - Ask something I've always wanted to know about you.

What took you into the library sciences? If you had to do it all over again and could NOT choose that, what would you do with your life?

7 - Tell you my favorite user pic of yours [if it pertains].

Hands down - I'm a librarian, don't make me shush your ass. :)
