Surgery dates

I'll post more later. Not up to it now. However, I have my surgery dates:

- Hysterectomy: October 12 at St. Paul hospital in Dallas

- Bilateral mastectomy and DEIP reconstruction: December 13 at Zale Lipshy hospital in Dallas

The first will be for about 4-5 days, the second anywhere from 4-7. Tomorrow I have to work out my medical leave with work. Thankfully, I can get 90 days full salary, which means I could take medical for October, November and December if needed.

Tomorrow I have to put my Tae Kown Do membership on hold until sometime next year, and I have to start telling people at work (and pawning my work off on them - thankfully, I've been planning for this part).

my mother has had the mascectomy and then they stretched her skin... he had the reconstruction at the end of august. She's recovering well.

i'll be thinking of you. :( if you want to know any details let me know..

coolest thing: they TATTOO the nipple. Go ahead and get a star!!!

We will be trying a skin and nipple sparing mastectomy. There is a slim chance the blood supply won't take and we'll have to 'rebuild' and then tattoo, but I'm hoping I keep my own :)

Yes, it's everywhere :) It's a bit strange to be dealing with this during October, because I get reminded of breast cancer EVERYWHERE I go. Good in a way, bad in a way. I remember why I am having this done, but then I can't forget for even a while that I am having it done. *laugh*

I did find some great sites off of that one though - sleepyheads.com has some GREAT pajamas!

Wow. That's a lot of major surgery, and soon.

You'll be in my thoughts.

Do you need any help? Either with your recovery or with the boys?

I'm available if you need me.

Don't know how much fun I would be to visit during recovery, but we're always open for company and help *laugh* The first week after getting out of the hospital wouldn't be any fun, because you would mostly have to curl up in bed with me and keep me company. After that, I will probably at least be able to move to the couch ;)

Up to you, doll. I know you want to help, but I always wonder why someone would want to come visit when I'm at my worst.

#1: I've slept with you before. I'm willing to do it again. You don't snore or fart nearly as much as my normal sleep companion(s)!

#2: You came to visit me when I was pretty bad off, so it's the least I can do to return the favor. Besides, we didn't get through all of your great movies when you were here. I'm up for some more snuggling up and watching movies that make us laugh.

#3: If anything, I'll get the boys out to burn off some steam so you can have some relaxation time, and so daddy can have a bit of a break. I wouldn't necessarily be coming there for fun, but to help you guys out.

If you don't need me there to help with your recoveries, maybe I could come visit between the two surgeries to make sure your spirits are up and you have fun in the middle of all this hell?

I don't want to over-step my bounds. If you don't think it would be good for me to be there at all, just say the word. I'm not so fragile that I will hide in a corner and sulk. ;)

#1- Yeah, but I can't shave my legs this time :)

#2- You weren't THAT bad off.

#3- I would love to have you visit as long as it is at least a week after I get out of the hospital. I should be more mobile then. Totally up to you if you want it to be in October, November, or January. That's up to your schedule. We've got plenty of room.

Let me know when would be best to bring by homemade meals and I'll make it happen.

We're pulling for you.

Probably after coming home after either of the surgeries. That would be so much help for Scott to not have to worry about cooking for a night :)
