I've been very...out of it for the last few days. My mind just isn't functioning and I've pulled several very BLONDE moments.

Moment 1) On Friday morning, I was stirring a cup of coffee when the phone rang. After the call, I tried to hang up the spoon and sat the phone down in the sink.

Moment 2) Today was a friend's daughter's fourth birthday party. The boys and I went, while Scott stayed home with the dogs. After arriving, I put the boys in their swimsuits, sprayed them down with sunscreen, put some on their faces, put on their floaties (which they will NOT give up!), and sent them off to swim. I didn't feel like swimming, so I just had on shorts and a halter top. I vividly remember putting sunscreen on my legs. I don't know what happened after that. All I know is that I realized some time after coming home three hours later, that my arms, chest and neck were bright red and really painful. Did I just FORGET the top half of my bottom? I got ZERO sun on my lower half, and you can see white marks on my chest, so I must have had it on my hands and maybe was going to start putting it on but something stopped me? Who knows. I just know this much - OUCH. I even have a blister on one shoulder.

Secondly, as promised, here are a few of Frazier, our guest dog this weekend. He's been a joy, and likes to snuggle with me. Right now, he is whining at my feet to get up in my lap, but has to wait until I move the laptop. He's 13.5 years old, going blind and deaf, but such a good boy.

Finally, the wonderful WONDERFUL washer and dryer in my tiny TINY laundry room (more of a laundry closet, but you have to walk through it to get between the garage and the house. Sucks, majorly. I couldn't get a good shot because there isn't room in there.

A few years ago, my fiance and I went to a car show that lasted from morning til night. We were out there for about eight hours, and I was in a tank top and jeans. Totally forgot sunscreen. BIG MISTAKE. By the time we got home that evening, I was already covered in blisters. For about two weeks after that I was peeling nonstop, in constant pain, and felt like putting a sack over my head so no one had to know it was me. Believe me when I say I feel your pain. :(

Frazier looks a lot like my aunt's Schnauzer, Sammy. He's so cute.

And I met a woman at work a few weeks ago who has a miniature Sheltie like Pepper. She said she got her from a woman that specializes in them, along with other miniature breeds. I've been wanting to visit with her, to see if she's for real or if she just happened by chance to come up with a litter of very small Shelties. Lol. (I'm pretty sure you're wondering why I'm saying this -- I saw Pepper in the background of one of the pics and it reminded me. :P)

Oh, and I LOVE your new washer and dryer. I hope to have something similar when I finally move out. Cross your fingers for me! :)

Feel better soon, hon. Hope you have lots and lots of aloe vera. Or maybe just some benzocaine. :\

If that woman says she specializes in miniature Shelties, do NOT buy from her. There is no such thing, the person is just breeding for a mutation, which is actually a dilution of the breed. I love Pepper, but didn't buy her to be that size. Shelties are great, if you are looking for a purebred dog, but no telling what will happen to the breed down the line if people keep promoting mutations :(

*laugh* Didn't mean to get preachy there, but it sounded that way. Sorry.

Yeah, I'll blame it on the sunburn.

I'm going to go put some more Aloe on it.

And yes, Frazier is a cutie. Asleep on the couch now. He's also a crotchety old man who didn't see me moving down to pet him earlier today and bit the fuck out of my hand. Yeah, I can't WAIT for Barqs and Pepper to get old. I understand that I got bit because of what _I_ did, not his fault at all. But damn, it hurt.

I was pretty sure there was no such thing, but it was interesting to listen to the woman talk about her dog.

My aunt's dog before Sammy was the same way when she got older. I believe she got to be almost 15 years old.

It's almost three thirty in the morning .. why the hell am I still awake?

Ouch, Very cute dog, and so Jealous! I had that washer/dryer set in a house I lived in with a couple of friends who were buying it...I say were because after 3 months they decided it wasn't for them and foreclosed on it...and there we were locked out without the washer and dryer (which is good, because they stopped paying on those too) good times...I miss the washer/dryer more than the house and a whole lot more than the roomies. :)
That laundry room looks very similar to my parents...just a connection between the garage and the house...even the tile looks identical. Are there cabinets above the w/d for you too?

There are shelves above it. Unfortunately, one of them came down too low for us to get the pedestals with the washer and dryer, but it hasn't been too bad. Since they are side by side, it's actually been easier than our old setup with a top-load washer against one wall and a front-load dryer against the other one, with about a foot between them.

Ours is a Lennar house, so if that is the builder she used it would explain the similarity. They seem to make almost cookie-cutter styled houses and use very similar materials in all of them.

We didn't have the pedestals on ours either...I think we decided that we'd rather reach than bend over. My parents have the top load washer and front load dryer in their room, they were able to get them side by side, (just barely opens under the cabinet) the catch is of course if you are in the garage and someone is transferring to the dryer or getting dry clothes out you get locked in the garage until they finish.

I believe their house is a Ray Lee house...it seems a lot of builders "build" upon a concept they saw in another builders model. We have quite a few cookie cutter neighborhoods out here...The first house I lived in was part of a land grab deal in a newly created city (Rio rancho, NM) So while there were duplicates they were blocks apart due to all the builders who came in and bought plots...but that was 27 years ago...the rest of the land got bought by one builder after the initial land grab and the newer neighborhoods rotate through 3 or 4 layouts.
