Just......EEEWWWWWW!

Ok. Truth time.

When was the last time you cleaned out from behind and under your washer and dryer?

I do it monthly
0(0.0%)
I try for twice a year
1(5.9%)
It's part of my annual Spring cleaning
0(0.0%)
You are supposed to clean back there?
16(94.1%)

Since I get the other side of my back done in the morning, and the washer and dryer is being delivered on Friday, I had Scott move the washer and dryer out tonight so I could clean.

OH. MY. GOD.

We built the house, so it was clean when we moved our washer and dryer in. That was almost 7 years ago. They haven't been moved since.

I found clothes, washcloths, socks, hangers, dryer sheets, price tags (because if you take the tag off as you walk in the door and throw it in the washer, your husband doesn't realize you've been shopping), and all of this was glued together and to the floor with a healthy helping of liquid soap.

Gross. I'm glad that's over with.

You need an other:

When the washer breaks and replacements arrive.

I doubt I will clean out behind there again before I buy another set.

Glad that's done! Hopefully you'll move before you need to move the washer and dryer again, and then it will be someone else's problem.

Oh! And you were there when I packed. You should know.

Today when I was cleaning out that suitcase from last March I found a ziploc baggie full of reddish mush with a black funk growing on it. I think it was originally a tomato. I'm not really sure. Any ideas?

I wish I could find the camera!!

I seem to remember some sort of leftovers you guys were 'going to eat on the plane'. I bet that is what it was. Whatever the leftovers originally were - who knows.

Tell your mom I said hello, and I wish her a speedy recovery. Give me a call if you need anything. Also, give me a call once you get settled and I can make the arrangements for our trip so you don't have to worry about it.

Summer Vacation
Have you ever met jennfurr on LJ? She's also a mom of twins - Jake and Marissa. They're a little older than my Little Guy.

Long story short, her hubby snuffyfur up and left her for someone else this week. Some old girlfriend from high school that he re-connected with through the internet.

I'm halfway tempted to go out to California to see jennfurr and offer a little moral support, make her have some fun and help with the kids. Wanna go to southern California? We could also play with kitestream and a few others while we're out there.

Whadda ya think?

If you think I'm off my rocker, please tell me. After the week I've just had you'd probably be right.

Re: Summer Vacation
My GOD. Bastard! I know of her from your journal and communities we are both in.

I think Southern California would work great. You know we'll have fun no matter where we go, and I would really like to meet kitestream.

When do you want to go and for how long?

Re: Summer Vacation
I know. I am dumbfounded. I want to rip his balls off and force feed them to his girlfriend. Rectally. But that's just me . . . .

I like the southern California idea. There is so much to do and so many people to play with! And so much wine!!!!

Let me talk to the Big Guy and coordinate with his school schedule. Since I'm going to be leaving him with the LG, I want to be sure it's not during finals or when he has a big paper due. I'll talk to him about it tomorrow.

Let me put my evil brain to work and come up with a good spa for us to camp out in. If you find something in the meantime, let me know. We'll compare notes and put together The Master Plan.

I'm also going to contact Dave - my friend who was sailing around the world - and see if he can't hook us up with someone with a boat so we can sail/cruise around for a day or so. Maybe even go to Catalina?

OHHHHHH!!! That's it!!! Catalina Island! Yes! Yes! Yes! Let me check on prices and availability.

I second the other option -

I think I have cleaned under there fully once since we have lived here. We moved here in 2000. I've cleaned around them and behind them since then, but not UNDER them.

And yes...EWWWWWWWWWWWww.

i ONLY said "once a year" because we generally move about once a year, and that is usually a part of our moving-out cleaning. obviously, not anyone else's. we also try to clean under/behind the fridge. it's pretty nasty down there, too.

We do that twice a year because we have to pull the fridge out to turn off the water when we change the inline filter for the icemaker. When we first put it in I don't think that area had been cleaned in about four years, so I quickly dusted, vaccumed and mopped while the maintenance guy went to get replacement tubing because it looked so gross I wouldn't want to kneel in it.

Oh yeah. Our house is designed (and I hate this setup) where you come into the garage, open a door, walk through a very narrow laundry room, open another door, and then you are in the main part of the house (the kitchen actually). I always seem to buy stuff and either ditch the bag in the laundry room, or rip the tags off in there and throw it in the wash. *laugh*
